The Alexa-enabled smart home hub with the HD display is down 30% for Amazon early prime big deal days. That’s right, the Echo Show 8 is part of a limited time deal, bringing the price down from $150 to just $105. This is the third generation and 2023 release of the smart home from Amazon. There’s a lot of great uses for this, but in my mind there is one place in your home specifically you should be considering for where to put this puppy.
The Perfect Companion in the Kitchen
From my point of view, the Echo Show series of smart home hubs feel designed from the ground up to be place on your kitchen counter.
Being able to pull up recipes right while you’re cooking, and follow along an an easy viewing angle is a godsend — video recipes too. I can’t tell you how many times I watched that Gordon Ramsey scrambled eggs tutorial when I first moved into my apartment. Scrambled eggs might seem easy enough to do without a guide, but nah watch the video, this still holds up.
And when you’re cooking something you’ve made a hundred times before and don’t need the recipe, the Echo Show 8 is great to just pull up some music, a podcast, YouTube video, or TV show to keep your mind occupied and entertained while preparing your meal.
What About the Specs and Features?
The Echo Show 8 offers spatial audio to give it a nice, full sound no matter where you put it in your home. The 8 inch HD touchscreen is perfect for quick navigation and watching video content. You can even take video calls with the 13 MP front facing camera. It’s kinda like having a landline for FaceTime. Well not “FaceTime” face time, whatever the Android equivalent is (I’m and iPhone guy, I’m not looking up what it’s called).
Being an Amazon streaming device, you’ll be able to connect to Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, and all your other favorite streaming apps. For music listening, you can set the default to either Amazon Music, Spotify, or Apple Music so Alexa knows where to pull the song from when you ask her to play Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan one more time.
Pairing to other smart devices is simple with built-in compatibility for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread. Of course, it also works with smart devices just on your Wi-Fi network directly. You can control lights, camera, and more with your voice or activate routines through motion.
And when it’s not in use, you can have it display photos as a digital frame or show adaptive content like calendar event reminders.
Make you home living even easier with the now 30% off Echo Show 8 — get it for just $105.
