Disney has officially lifted its review embargo on Agatha All Along ahead of its arrival on Disney+ tomorrow. Now that the first reactions of those presented with screener copies of its first four episodes are out, let’s see what the world thinks of Marvel’s latest series.
Overall, it seems like people are very excited for this particular return to form for Marvel, especially given its connections to WandaVision, which really kicked off Marvel’s TV era with a bang… a bang many of the shows since have tried in vain to recapture, honestly. Praise is largely aimed at Kathryn Hahn’s return as Agatha, as well as Aubrey Plaza’s likely snarky and deadpan new character, Rio Vidal. Joe Locke’s mysterious “Teen” is additionally singled out as a highlight, with reviewers describing his performance as “a gem,” “a blast,” and “a scene-stealer.” Better still, the series’ is said to be “batshit crazy,” while boasting some “actually terrifying scares” appropriate to its theme. In contrast, a couple other reviews note its both “a little slow” and “doesn’t take itself seriously” enough for audiences to invest much interest, themselves. In an otherwise positive notice, one reviewer faintly praises Agatha All Along as “actually feel[ing] like TV” compared to other recent programs on Disney+.
#AgathaAllAlong is the perfect follow-up to WandaVision! 💜 The first 4 eps are a delightful mix of Hocus Pocus & The Wizard of Oz, with a hint of horror and loads of comedy.
This series is insanely fun and engaging. It’s got that same captivating vibe as WandaVision.

Agatha All Along is absolutely batsh*t crazy in all the right kinds of ways.
Kathryn Hahn is a force, camping it up as Agatha Harkness like we all knew she would. The rest of the cast is also divine, and Joe Locke is a gem.
Vivid, outlandish and brilliant. #AgathaAllAlong🔮 pic.twitter.com/UZFwaD1AXO

After four eps of #AgathaAllAlong, it’s clear this #WandaVision spin-off keeps the mystery alive casting a new BEWITCHING spell. Kathryn Hahn is PERFECTION, embracing every wicked moment. #AgathaAllAlong is the PERFECT show for the spooky season and filled with BIG WITCH ENERGY. Kathryn Hahn is iconic as ever and delivers a deliciously devious and spellbinding performance. Joe Locke is a scene stealer. This is the most fun you’ll have feasting on a show this year. pic.twitter.com/jieZUrWWIU

The first 4 #AgathaAllAlong eps are a strong sequel to WANDAVISION as they have their own identity.
The songs are great. Kathryn Hahn & Aubrey Plaza’s dynamic is electric. Debra Jo Rupp brings the laughs, but this is the scariest MCU project to date.

#AgathaAllAlong is WICKEDLY FUN! A witchy spin-off that casts its own spell. Kathryn Hahn is delightfully mischievous, Joe Locke is a blast to watch, and the coven’s chemistry will leave you BEWITCHED. A perfect Marvel series for the Halloween season, bound to leave you HEXED! pic.twitter.com/koVDToKUZv

If there was ever a character that deserved her own spin-off series, it’s Agatha Harkness. Kathryn Hahn is better than ever, thriving as she takes center stage. As for Joe Locke, he is a total scene stealer and will no doubt become a new @Marvel fan favorite. #AgathaAllAlong 💜✨ pic.twitter.com/eH5sJxpKSl

#AgathaAllAlong is a crazy, wicked, fun, mystery filled journey that also has some actually terrifying scares. Wasn’t too excited, but became a total fan after watching. Compared to tother Disney+ shows, It actually feels like TV in both writing and pacing. Can’t wait for more! pic.twitter.com/AEJLO4RmrP

I had a lot of concerns heading into #AgathaAllAlong, but I am thrilled to report that this witch has quite enjoyed what she’s seen so far. I’m having a ton of fun theorizing already, and I really hope it sticks the landing! pic.twitter.com/rozbzcsOjW

Watched the first 4 episodes of #AgathaAllAlong. It’s okay. After a fun start, it slows. It doesn’t take itself or its characters seriously and neither should audiences. Joe Locke’s mystery character is the only likeable one but has to play the Marvel mystery marketing gimmick… pic.twitter.com/agFTZaWCVE

#AgathaAllAlong is wicked fun! Kathryn Hahn is brilliant, alongside with all other actresses! But, it’s #JoeLocke who captivating me all along!
The first 4 episodes were a little slow… I hope they picked up more.. and it has a Hocus Pocus vibe… pic.twitter.com/fazV1r7cBr— Jana N Nagase – Jana On Camera (@janaoncamera) September 17, 2024
#AgathaAllAlong is camp and Katharine Hahn sells it in every.single.scene. It’s funny, sexy and Aubrey Plaza was made to be a Marvel witch. pic.twitter.com/GH5wbwU2I7

#AgathaAllAlong is another fun trek into the MCU – the first four eps set up an interesting journey, but it’s the cast’s amazing chemistry that really carries the show. Kathryn Hahn is top notch, but it’s Aubrey Plaza that steals the show. Down the witches road, we go! pic.twitter.com/rdejLxjYf9
